The Professional Pet Groomers & Stylists Alliance (PPGSA) Standards of Care, Safety, and Sanitation serve as a foundational set of best practices collaboratively developed by experienced pet grooming professionals and educators.
These standards reflect core expectations for safe, humane, and professional pet grooming, and guide how pets should be handled, how facilities should operate, and how sanitation should be maintained to protect both pets and groomers.

The Maine Professional Pet Groomers Association (MPPGA) is a growing statewide organization created by and for professional pet groomers in Maine. MPPGA is being established as a nonprofit 501(c)(6) professional association — a membership-based nonprofit devoted to promoting the common business interests of professional groomers and enhancing the standards of the grooming industry.
We are dedicated to elevating the standards of pet grooming in Maine through education, professional excellence, and a steadfast commitment to safety. Our association supports the growth of our community by fostering a culture of professionalism and mutual support.
